Leaders to Bush at G8 Summit: Walk on By

Bush's popularity in the U.S. hit its lowest percentage ever, 28%, shortly after the elections. Looks like it's even worse among world leaders. If there was ever a visible expression of the term, "Don't let the door hit you on your way out," this is it.
Watch it, AFTER THE JUMP...

I think what kills me is that his approval rating is 28%. Who are these people and can they really be that stupid?!
Posted by: James | Nov 20, 2008 9:35:01 AM
James
yes they can be
newsweek did a poll that showed 1 out of 4 Americans / 25% believe that the fairytale space god jesus would float down out of the clouds within their lifetimes.

"Can they really be that stupid," you asked. Yes they can; they're the ones with Bush-Cheney bumper stickers on their vehicles (or McCain-Palin bumper stickers)!

Ignorance is bliss.

I almost felt sorry for him for a second and then the last 8 years flashed through my mind. How do you say "snub" in French? German? Mandarin?
Posted by: Tweety | Nov 20, 2008 10:47:02 AM
Jimmyboyo, you are dead on, and the percentages are no coincidence. George was the president to the bible-bangers, because they believed his lie that he was a good little christian who met Jesus on the road to Damascus and drinks no more. These people care more about a leader being an evangelical christian than they do whether or not he/she is truly qualified. And look where it's gotten us.

50% of Americans can’t tell what the 3 branches of Government are but they can tell you all about Santa Claus, Jesus and Easter Bunny. Guess which ones get more media time, advertising dollars and pulpit banging.

You know, it's sad. This past election got me and almost everyone I know politically active (which is great). However, many people got into arguments. In my experience, and in the experiences of many others I know, so many Republican friends got so heated that friendships were broken. Having a discussion is what this country needs, yet I constantly witnessed intimidation, harassment and yelling from so many Republicans shouting liberal this, democrat that, it was disgusting. Not surprisingly most of them, if not all, where older, caucasian, wealthy Republicans who vehemently defended McCain and Palin as though it was a personal matter. What a shame.

Tweety, funny you say that.
I e-mailed the link off to my 83 yr old grandma. She voted for bush the first time, but he lost her the instant he said "you are either with us or against us". She is a crotchety oldster who hates to be told what to do by anyone....LOVE HER....Anyway; she watched the clip and said "DAMN! What a huge insult. That is pitiful. You can even feel sorry for the devil sometimes. He almost destroyed america, but damn!"

I saw this at lunch yesterday when it was airing, but didn't notice something until now--not only is nobody offering him a hand, but he isn't offering a hand to anyone else either. As obvious a snub as this is, I doubt that anyone would have flat-out refused to shake his hand if he had offered it. It's almost as if Bush is saying "Finally, I can stop talking to all these foreigners." Very strange...

This clip is inane, as are the comments. I don't like Bush but people please, get a clue sometimes. This video doesn't tell you anything, and Rick Sanchez is a moron for making a big deal about it...
This conference took place in WASHINGTON, where Bush personally welcomed everyone to the summit. Anyone see the great footage on the Daily Show to cuckoo clock sound effects as Bush came out and welcomed each leader and yes shook hands and yes stood there for a photo.
This group photo was taken afterwards, and so everyone HAD ALREADY MET BUSH AND SHAKEN HANDS WITH HIM. Some hadn't yet done so with each other, so it makes sense they would do so here.
Can't stand Bush - glad he's gone. Worst. President. Ever.
At the same time, don't lose your minds people - sometimes things are not exactly as they seem

patrick, but how many times did you vote for bush? did you vote for mccain?
I bet you did. Many repubs hate bush but that doesn't change the fact they voted for him twice.
Very few repubs now a days admit to not hating bush.

if what patrick says is true, bravo to him for pointing it out and being more aware than the cnn anchor.

I think it is important to note that although he is a moron (Bush), this video has been shown out of context. Bush had already greeted, as host, all of the heads of state and this was the lineup for the group photo during which some of the other leaders saw each other for the first time that day.
